Launching smarter buses as a service with Citymapper

Launching smarter buses as a service with Citymapper

Since October of last year I've been at Citymapper, and I've been building a bus. Well - more accurately, I've been leading product design on a Smartbus. In that time we've built and shipped 2 productised Saas platforms, a full hardware stack, an Android framework and an App. We've also stripped down a fleet of buses and rebuilt the tech from the ground up and productised it all. We've even wrapped the interior and exterior, rebuilt the seats, and deployed a super-cute bus icon on everything

I'll go into more detail about the whole product stack soon enough when I catch a breath, but for now here's some better writers than me talking about the launch:

Wired

Evening Standard

Daily Telegraph

The Verge

Engadget

CNet

TNW

Time Out London

Venture Beat

Creative Review

Fast Company

There's also more product elements at Citymapper.com/smartbus for anyone who is interested and we're also experimenting with crowd sourced bus routes with a crazy beta drawing product here.

If you're a holistic product type who sweats the details, then I've got you covered - check out the blogs coming from the product team on Medium and some 'finely crafted' copywriting here that involved more than a few late nightsThat's right - product is a full stack requirement.
